Due to a customer’s request, we’ve converted our Captain’s Log Handkerchief into a Bandana. A Bandana or Bandanna is derived from the Hindi word bandhana, “to tie” is a type of large, usually colorful, kerchief, usually worn on the head or around the neck of a person or pet. The Captain’s Log bandana comes in two color-ways, yellow with a deep red pearl stitching and also a deep navy blue with green pearl stitching. I wear one around my neck when I go running in the cold. The bandana is made of 100% fine cotton and screen printed by our friends over at Real Thread. They’ve done a great job. The bandana measures 20″ x 20″ and packaged in a hand made canvas bag. Handmade in Brooklyn, NY in a very limited quantity! We’re proud to welcome the new Ryder Bow-tie to our neckwear collection. This simple yet striking design will freshen up and fit seamlessly into your wardrobe. Like our other styles, the Ryder is available in the fuller butterfly bow as well as the slimmer batwing bow. Teich, one of our fantastic local retailers approached us to do a special collaboration with them. We jumped at the chance. We love what their store embodies and their mission. They are our generation’s Mom & Pop shop in the West Village which is trying to keep the tradition alive despite the boom of huge chain retailers. Many of the items they sell are made by small local independent companies.

Teich wanted to do something special for their customers and decided that commissioning a special exclusive Sal bag would be perfect. Therefore, I’d like to introduce the Teich x Skinny Vinny limited edition Sal bag, exclusive to Teich. We’ve used rich, decadent materials and colors that are at the core of Teich’s identity. This special bag is made of a fine Melton Wool with distressed brown leather accents. The interoir is a red on white cotton pinstripe. Handcrafted in our studio in Brooklyn, NY.

To refresh your memory, the Sal bag converts and allows you to carry it FOUR different ways. It can covert into a briefcase, a messenger bag, a back pack and a tote bag.

Happy Autumn everyone! Today is the first day of Fall and therefore we’d like to show you what you can expect these next few seasons as the brisk weather approaches. We injected some wools and deep rich colors to our current products. It adds a bit of flair to are collection don’t you think?

The Rowen backpack is our flagship bag this year. We’d like to remind everyone it comes in a subtle wool plaid. Perfect for fall.

We therefore carried that wool plaid over to our City Slicker tote which adds a level of sophistication to this casual bag.

We wanted to add some fun and flair to our fall bow ties. I’d like to introduce our Flyte bow ties. This bold and whimsical print in multiple deep, rich color-ways will warm up and brighten the sometimes often dreary and colder seasons. This print is very unconventional to our usual offers, but Skinny Vinny is all about trying new things! These ties are available in the slimmer batwing style as well as the butterfly style (coming soon).

We’d like to introduce to you the Rowen. It’s the first Skinny Vinny backpack and we’re quite proud of this one. We’ve been working on a backpack for a while now and we’ve finally gotten it to a place where we are really excited about it. The Rowen was completed earlier this year, but we haven’t released it yet because we wanted to do some solid user testing with it. Earlier this year, I took a month long trip to Asia. I traveled back and fourth between Hong Kong, Tokyo and Seoul. I took the Rowen with me and it was my trusted companion through-out my trip. We’ve encountered rain, snow and all the annoying trials airport security threw at us.

On a daily basis on that month long trip, the Rowen was packed with,
